Red Obelisk is a stately columnar beech with burgundy new foliage in springtime turning purple by summer with beautiful fall color. The leaf margins are serrate as well as somewhat puckered which offers stylish texture. Although the form of this deciduous tree is narrow it will mature up to 15' (4.5m) across and 35' feet (10m) or more in height.
